Hi, I’m Ariana (Aria) Carson, founder of On To It Health and Safety. I’ve worked in classrooms, offices, and on construction sites — and I’ve learned one thing: health and safety works best when it’s practical, realistic, and built from real-world experience.
While completing my Graduate Certificate, I realised I wanted to specialise in industries I love. To truly understand the realities of trade work, I started my apprenticeship in plumbing and drainlaying. Yes, I occasionally bug my husband and frustrate him a little (or a lot depending on who you ask) — though he also gets an extra set of hands when he needs it! Being on site gives me the chance to ask questions, learn the why behind each job, and gain hands-on experience that informs the practical systems I create — not just paperwork.

This experience allows me to design H&S systems that are practical, realistic, and actually used, not just filed away.
My H&S Qualifications
I started my first H&S qualification in 2022 — NZ Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety Practice — to make sure our plumbing business was compliant. Since then, I’ve completed a Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Management and a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science (Occupational Health and Safety).
In 2024, I launched On To It Health and Safety to support small businesses like yours, helping make health and safety simple, practical, and achievable.
